Required Item for this Crafty Project

This entire project is an artist’s dream! You will need a specific set of instruments and materials to get the wow-factor. They include:

  • Lightweight watering pot (preferably made out of plastic)
  • Metal binding wires (durable yet thin)
  • Heavy-duty hot glue gun
  • Artificial stone or rock for decoration
  • Succulent-friendly potting mix
  • Succulents of your choice

How to Build a Floating Teapot and Succulent Garden

Now that you have all the items ready in your inventory, you can get started to create this artificial landscape straight out of a fairytale!

  • Firstly, insert a few metal binding wires through the nozzle of your watering pot. Make sure that a significant chunk of the wires emerges, as this will simulate the free-falling water later on!
  • At the base of the wires protruding out of the teapot, bend them so that they allow the pot to float freely in the air. You will have to tweak the positioning a few times to get it right.
Note: Try imitating how actual water will flow out from a teapot while constructing your base.
  • But these wires don’t give off the look of liquid spilling out! Here’s where the hot glue gun comes into action! Coat the entire length of the wire with hot glue. Once cooled, the adhesive looks extremely similar to a frothy stream of water!
  • Now you can transfer this apparatus to a flat-bottomed container. Make sure the walls of the pot aren’t too high, as they will hide the magical effect of the floating tea pot.
  • Place your artificial rock in the center of the container and, using more adhesive, secure your floating teapot and the hot-glue stream of water to it.
  • Once the entire setup is stable and dry, you can begin filling the surroundings with a suitable potting mix.
Note: For added effect, you can use two different types of textured soil.
  • Finally, strategically plant your succulents all around the artistic planter. Ensure that each plant has enough room to grow and is not blocked by the hanging teapot or any other decoration.
  • Continue to care for it as usual, and voila! You have created a masterpiece that’s undoubtedly going to steal the attention of all your gardening pals!

Now that you have created a gallery-worthy art piece, let us know which other creative ideas you would like to implement in your gardening section to make it stand out!
