The string of coins is a succulent plant native to Madagascar, famous for its attractive foliage. It is a climbing or trailing plant with long, slender stems, fleshy, oval leaves stacked on top of each other, and small yellow-green blooms.
The leaves store water during periods of drought due to Crassulacean Acid Metabolism (CAM), meaning it opens its stomata at night to minimize water loss and prolong the plant’s survival in arid environments.
